How to: Root your Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition

In case you have updated your Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 to the latest Android 4.4.2 UEUCND2 firmware, you might be willing to get your device rooted, so that you can further optimize it. By getting access to the system partition of your device, you can enjoy more customizations and tweaks, as you will be allowed to install them. Read carefully the instructions and the pre installation guidelines, and everything should work smoothly.

  • First, you need to have a proper USB cable that you're going to use to connect your tablet to the computer. For the connection to be successful, your computer must have the Samsung USB drivers[1]  installed on it.
  • To prevent the connection from interruptions, you must disable any antivirus apps running on your PC. Also, you must enable the "USB Debugging" option from your tablet's "Developer Options" menu.
  • During the rooting procedure, there is a chance that data will be erased from your tablet. Let's be honest, who wants to lose any important data?  To prevent any data loss, we recommend you to create a backup of your device, by using a free tool from Google Play such as "Helium[2]".
  • Gaining root access to the system partition of your device is somehow crucial if you really are an Android user. However, as rooting your handset is not an official operation, the warranty of your tablet will be voided. No need to worry, as the warranty can be easily reinstated! All you need to do is to re-install a stock firmware on your device, and the problem will be sorted.
  • Also, the battery level of your tablet must be over 80%. This will prevent your device from going off during the rooting process and save you from bricking your handset.
