How to root your T-Mobile US Samsung Galaxy S5

Now that you are the owner of a Samsung Galaxy S5 for some time, you might think about customizing your device and exploring it into more detail. To be able to do so, you must gain access to the system partition of your handset and unchain it from its factory settings. By doing so, you won't be restricted anymore to the stock offerings, but you can add tweaks and personalize your device into the most creative ways. If you don't know how to root your device, then you should not worry about it, because in this tutorial we will teach you how to do it. Before proceeding to the instructions, you should also spend some time reading the following guidelines.

  • Make sure you have a proper USB cable to connect your device to a Windows computer. For that cable to ensure the connection, you must download and install the latest Samsung USB drivers[1] on the computer you are about to use.
  • Also, to avoid any interruptions of the installation, disable any antivirus applications on your PC and device.
  • From the "Developer Options" section, enable the "USB Debugging" function.
  • A factory reset will be performed for your device. If you want to secure the data and files existent on your device, we recommend you to create a backup of the important content of your phone. To do so, use the "Helium[2]" or "Titanium Pro[3]" backup tools.
  • Last, but not least, make sure that the battery level of your handset is over 60%, as a sudden shutdown of your phone due to the lack of power may force you to retake the installation process from the start.
